Conflict Management within the supply chain
Conflict is a stark reality in the world. Even talented people may struggle to work together well
owing to conflict. And while it is true that conflict amongst people can trigger positive
consequences, the opposite it most often true.
“We must create a culture where even the most serious disputes are handled not on the basis of
intimidation or force, but from mutual respect and co-existence. Far from eliminating differences, our
challenge is to make the world a safe place for differences” – Ken Blanchard, borrowing from William
Ury.
Effectively resolving conflict does not imply that we all have to think alike. Instead it requires that
we discover how to find unity even when people may initially have conflicting ideas and opinions.
