We are excited to invite you to an interactive Public Sector Strategic Sourcing and Category Management workshop. Join us as we dive into and unpack the current challenges faced with the Public Sector in implementing the strategic sourcing tools, models, and processes.

This workshop will integrate theoretical and practical concepts that are aligned to best practice and leading concepts such as the Sourcing Business Model approach.

The approach is also aligned to the Public Procurement ACT (No. 28 of 2024) on positioning public procurement as a strategic lever for economic transformation, industrialisation and beneficiation. The workshop aligns with the modernized National Treasury strategic procurement framework and practice guides (2024) and will guide you through its three key phases.

  • PHASE 1 - OPPORTUNITY ASSESSMENT:
  • Strategically align procurement planning with institutional goals, analyze spending impact, prioritize commodities, select appropriate sourcing strategies, and engage key stakeholders effectively
  • PHASE 2 - SOURCING STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT:
  • Collect and analyze data for sourcing decisions, assess internal and external factors influencing strategy development, understand key sourcing business models, and apply frameworks like risk analysis, TCO, opportunity analysis, supplier relationships, bid evaluation, and business case development to craft effective sourcing strategies
  • PHASE 3 - SOURCING STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION:
  • Engage and evaluate markets, plan and execute procurement strategies, apply various procurement methods, manage contracts through SLAs, develop supplier performance measures, oversee contract transitions, and implement performance review mechanisms to enhance service delivery
